The EU Innovation and Networks Executive Agency just published a flyer on the implementation of the Single European Sky and R&I on drones. The publication was set to be launched at the World ATM Congress in Madrid, which has now been cancelled. It gives an overview of INEA’s supported projects from the CEF Transport programme related to Air Traffic Management and SESAR (Single European Sky ATM Research). It also mentions the projects supported by the Horizon 2020 Transport programme in the field of drone research.

INEA is supporting research and innovation to develop new drone technologies, as well as to recommend global standards for the mass market deployment of drones in Europe. The growing portfolio of H2020 projects that INEA supports will greatly contribute to the development of U-space. In addition, they will also feed the CEF supported SESAR Joint Undertaking demonstrators. Fostering this synergy will contribute to maximising returns from research and deployment as well as help the drone sector to develop technologies with a positive societal impact.

AW-Drones is contributing to the development of U-space, a set of new services and specific procedures designed to support safe, efficient and secure access to airspace for large numbers of drones. The INEA flyer features us along with other INEA’s supported projects: click to download the flyer.
